Gather around the campfire at Robinson Forest and learn to cook over a Swedish Fire Torch or with a cast iron spider. Taste some of the new Cook Wild Kentucky Recipes from the University of Kentucky's Nutrition Education Program. Learn more about Kentucky's abundance of wild game and methods of outdoor cooking.

Cook Wild Kentucky is a new project from Kentucky Cooperative Extension. Healthy recipes are available featuring venison, rabbit, fish, frog legs, and more. At this event, learn techniques for cooking meals over a Swedish Fire Torch or in a cast iron pot with legs. These cast iron pots are called "spiders" even though they only have 3 legs. All ages are welcome to attend. Children must be supervised by an adult. Sample several Cook Wild Kentucky Recipes. Feel free to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy around the campfire after class.
